MEET RAQUEL
Hi, I’m Raquel—an attorney, mom, Latina, and the founder of The Raquel Edit.
The Raquel Edit began with something I couldn’t find. I was searching for a bracelet small enough for my daughter’s toddler-sized wrist, and after coming up empty, I decided to learn how to make one myself. I loved the process: choosing the beads, playing with color, and turning the materials in front of me into something beautiful and personal. One tiny bracelet led to another, and before long, beading had become a creative passion—and the beginning of our Mommy & Me line.
As I began making more jewelry, I also started thinking more carefully about what it was made from. I’ve always loved fashion jewelry, but I’ve never liked the lightweight feel of resin and plastic beads. I wanted to create jewelry with substance: pieces with natural texture and beautiful weight that felt more like small works of art than disposable accessories. I wanted to make something I would feel proud to wear. That philosophy still shapes every piece at The Raquel Edit. I work with high-quality natural materials, and each piece is handcrafted in Charlotte and made in limited quantities.
I fell in love with Charlotte, NC, when I moved here in 2019. My designs are inspired by Charlotte’s abundant greenery and by the way women here pair light, neutral shades with colorful hues. That balance—natural and bright, colorful and effortlessly wearable—has become central to my collection.
What began with one bracelet for my daughter has grown into a collection rooted in color, quality, and the belief that jewelry should feel as special as it looks. Thank you for being here and supporting an independent, Charlotte-made brand. I hope you find a piece that brings a little more color to your life and you reach for again and again.
